Funny Ads on Google Adwords

Google Adwords is proably the biggest ad network today. Most of the bloggers and internet users are very much familiar with google adwords but if you have heared of it for the very first time then let me introduce it to you.

Google Adwords is a giant ad network. Google started this service since 2003 and since then it has become a success story. When someone searches google for a particular keyword it automatically serves up ads to web users based on what words they searched for or what site they're browsing.

Today I am going to share a very funny and weird side of this dazzling service. So, just set back relaxed and enjoy.

Google Officially Banned Co.Cc Domains From Search Engine

Few months back one of my blogs (running on a co.cc domain) was penalized by google.  Initially it was on page 1 of google for a particular keyword of Medium Competition but by the end of June it suddenly disappeared from the search results. Google had de-indexed it all of a sudden. At that time I was quiet sceptical about the reason why Google all of a sudden penalized my blog.

But now Google has officially announced that they have blocked free co.cc domain names in all over the world. Every blogger knows about co.cc it’s a company providing free domain names for personal use. Most of the bloggers used co.cc domain for adsense approval but unfortunately it won’t work now.

Google banned co.cc domains

The reason behind this ban was answered by an Anti-Phishing operational Group, according to their research there have been 4966 phishing attacks done from co.cc domains in the first quarter of 2011. This was the main reason Google finally decided to block them all.

So, If you have a website with co.cc domain then you can move it to BlogSpot or WordPress immediately. I am sure Google will re-indexed your content and you will be back in the search engine result’s.

Obama Bin Laden Dead

Just few months back the most wanted Osama Bin Laden was killed by U.S. navy seals. This news was one of the biggest in the history of media. The news was so big and hot that some of the media houses in order to present the news quickly did a big mistake and that was confusing “Osama Bin Laden” with U.S. president “Obama” and the headlines turned out be something like this, “OBAMA BIN LADEN DEAD”.

Frankly speaking the words “OSAMA” and “OBAMA” are so similar that there is just a difference of one alphabet (i.e. the second alphabet). But I believe media houses are not supposed to do such blunders.

If you feel the media houses were the only ones to commit this mistake then probably this will shake your mind. Around the world thousands of people searched Google the same way. The search queries like "Dead Obama Bin Laden" and "Obama dead body" were hit so many times that Google was forced to automatically included these queries in Google's auto complete feature.

This proves that many users around the world typed the wrong query unintentionally. Oh that is weird isn't it?
