How To Block Someone On Google Plus

Google Plus is the brand new social network and the most talked about setting in google plus is privacy and this is the only thing which differentiated it from the other existing social networks. Today I am going to guide you on how to block someone on google plus thereby making your account more secure and maintain your privacy.

Block option on the profile

Method 1:

• Go to your home tab and find any update from the person, whom you want to block.
• Then on the right hand side of the option there is a small triangle click on it and select the option that says “BLOCK THIS PERSON”.
• Now Google will open one more for confirm block. Click on Block button for confirm.

Method 2:

• You can also block someone from there profile page.
• First of all visit the profile page of the person whom you want to block.
• Then in the side bar there is an option saying  Block [person's name]. Select this option.
• Confirm that you want to block that person and you are done.

Method 3:

• Navigate to the circles tab.
• Select the circle in which you have placed the person you want to block, select the person click “More Actions” link on the right.
• And Select Block, confirm the dialog and the person will be blocked from your profile.

Method 4:

• You can also add the person you want to block to your blocked circle and the person will be automatically blocked.

Facebook’s Upcoming Privacy Features

Facebook has publicized on its blog that they will be rolling out some new security and privacy control features in the upcoming days which would solve the privacy problems being faced by Facebook users. According to the security experts Facebook's upcoming privacy features are a positive step from the social networking giant and will defiantly make the completion between it and Google plus more tight.

According to Marian Merritt, Internet safety advocate with Symantec’s Norton “It seems to reflect some of what people have been asking for. The issues of privacy and of control over your data are a growing concern and consumers are paying more attention to them. However, the changes haven’t been rolled out yet, so I don’t know how hard they will be to configure. I’m pleased, but until I can start using them it’s all conjecture,”

Some of the new features which facebook has added seems to have been be borrowed form Google plus. For instance, the choice of sharing posts with ‘Public’ or ’Friends’ and the convenience of deeper privacy controls on profile information is much like what Google+ has come up with.

As these privacy controls are not out yet so it’s quiet impossible to predict what impact it will have on the facebook and more importantly on Google plus 

Toggle and Hide Comments in Google Plus

Many people don’t like long comment lists in there Google plus stream and for those people today I am going to share a wonderful chrome extension that can help you to hide comments in google plus. Actually uptill now Google plus doesn’t have any such kind of inbuilt system that can help the users to hide long comment lists in there stream but I hope that Google plus will soon have some inbuilt option to give users more control on comments they see, but for now, this extension  save some space on your stream.

Few months back Facebook was the market leader in the social networking arena but now after the introduction of Google Plus things have changed. No doubt that if you go with numbers Facebook still rules the market with 750 million active users but if we have a look on the rate of growth then there is no comparison to the success of Google Plus. In mere 3 weeks it has got more than 20 million active users. And that’s a big number.
